GO Team Argentina GO!!
My Team for the World Cup 2010 is ARGENTINA !!! With Diego Armando Maradona as the Coach and with players like Lionel Messi, Milito, Teves and Rodoriguez in the team line up Argentina is indeed THE favorite to win the World Cup this year. I expect to see Argentina to play on the final match that is scheduled for 11th July 2010, and to take the World Cup trophy home!!
History with World Cup:
The Argentina team has held the record of playing in four World Cup finals. In 1930, they got the opportunity to play their first World Cup final but lost the match to Uruguay. The match statistics reveal that though the team participated in four finals matches, they only won two of
the four matches. In 1978, they played in the World Cup final for the second time, against strong rivals Netherlands. In-spite of the enthusiasm and goof on-field performance by the teams, the match finally went in favor of Argentina by 3-1. the third final match against Germany was equally excited. Both the teams played exceptionally well and the Argentinian team emerged as winners with the final score of 3-2. the same enthusiasm was by the team during their 1990 match, The Argentina team played well, however due to controversial penalty they lost the match to Germany by 1-0.
